I found this on The Mini Forum . I always forget it, so I thought it would be a good reminder. Here's the whole post. "As this crops up so much here is the excellent picture showing the firing order and the direction of rotation of the distributor and the lead location. When correctly timed on No 1 cylinder TDC (both valves closed) on the firing stroke the rotor arm will be pointing at the no 1 lead position on the distributor cap Picture posted by Yoda TMF." |

I'll drop this into the How-To. Sometimes you need a sanity check, and I have found myself looking for the firing order in the specifications... The No.1 is situated at 2 o'clock, which is also important for initial distributor installation to get the vacuum advance pointing in the right direction, and again a sanity check reference when you pull all the leads off. |
