Hey 1018cc, do you think they would have them in Surfers? I'll be there on Saturday getting out of this cold wind for a week. I went to Spotlight today to get a picture frame but they hadn't heard of them.

Jim, just continuing after our phone call, I reckon it is made out of resin (for some reason I got resin confused with plastic  ). I have also included a pic of how thick it is, its about 1cm from the inside to the area of where it sits on the desk.

You never know, there could be one in a store down the coast.

Was good talking to you.

Cheers, Nick

Thanks 1018cc, I really appreciate your help. I will PM you when we get back from the Gold Coast and let you know how the hunt went. Thanks for the extra pic, looks strong enough to survive aussie post. Will call you if we get any spare time which is sounding doubtful. Regards, Jim.

I've often seen them (or similar - like VWs) at street markets - Never thought till now about getting one but if I had one on the dresser every night when I emptied my pockets I could put the loose change in it and when full have spending money for the Mini (and Moke)

Two new additions to my set today. I was walking past a cake shop in Brighton and looked in the window and noticed the small minis. They are the miniature version of the money box and they use them as cake decorations. They were a bit surprised when I bought two. They only had red and green and they get them from a 'supplier' who the girl didn't know. They were $4.95 each which may be dearer than elsewhere but I didn't care because I haven't seen them anywhere else. There were a couple left so if you want one I could buy it and post it. I would only charge the exact amount of the car and post, no profit of course. Anyway, see the attached pic of my money box, picture frame and mini minis. Cheers.

No problem Sports 850, I owe you a favour so it would be a pleasure. I will get back there as soon as I can and let you know. Asha, do you know 1018cc? He helped me try to get a big money box, so if you or he wants any little ones let me know. I don't think postage would be much. I will see how many they have left. They may pop up elsewhere but I'd rather get one straight away in case they don't. PS: Why isn't this thread in Mini Chat, general discussion is for non mini related stuff isn't it?

Thought that may be the case but didn't want to make assumptions and get myself into strife!

I dunno why I posted this in here - lapse in concentration maybe? If the mods want to move this thread its ok with me.
