Another question. What settings do you use on your esc's?

:D

I have a few bits and bobs in the cardboard box my m05 came in, also a couple of screwdrivers and whatever is on my desk when I'm packing up. Basically the leftovers from things I've upgraded.

The power supply for my 12v charger is out of an old PC. I only have one battery!

Last event I got cranky with not having a fold up table and an extension cord so I went to officeworks between races and got them.

That's it - minimalist racing

I drag around an Ogio 9800. I like it, and I can use it outside of the hobby. It's liked by many who race, especially ones who travel. Incredible quality.

This however may not be the solution for you. Many like the RC pit bags for ease of use. I don't like the quality of them compared to how much you pay, but people ignore that because of its convenience.

As for the ESC. I run everything cranked up. 8)

If you buy a pit bag don't buy a cheap one, you will regret it like I did. A good tip is to reinforce the sides of the bag with 6mm mdf to strengthen it. Check out Walter hobby that's my local store good range and prices, the xceed bag they stock is a good bag and the serpent 3 draw is smaller but well made.

Thanks guys, that's the second person to recommend Walter. I've bought a few things from them.

I'm thinking about building a wooden box similar to this

As for the ESC. Does cranking the timing up increase top speed?

Probably not top speed, but gives it the best chance to get there...

Top punch and 'timing'. I run full brakes and no drag brake, but they are both of personal preference.

I guy that races in Geelong has a box like that. He's an old slot car racer, and the slot car guys all use these boxes.

Thanks Scott,

I run no drag brake as well, but prefer my brakes at 80%.
I will crank up my timing and see how that impacts my lap times.

interesting about the ESC settings, I hadn't touched mine since I first got it and had it in the m01 and I'd left it mostly standard - I have some things to test!

Depending on how good your transmitter is, you can dial down brakes from the drivers stand. Not that I do it with the Mini or the Touring Car, but definitely tune the brakes to suit conditions with the F1.

I have two different transmitters.

I normally use my spectrum DX4S. It's a really nice but not over the top transmitter.

My other one is a skyfly gt3-c. Also a great transmitter considering the price. However I have had to make a few repairs including replacing the entire wheel/wheel housing as one of the internal parts broke and after fixing it twice I thought it was time to buy a new wheel. Only cost me $15 including delivery for the replacement part.

Both can control braking.

that's pretty cool, but 174mm wheelbase means it's a lot smaller than an m05 mini chassis which is 210mm.

it says it's designed for one of these sort of things, first time I've heard of it - http://www.mardavespares.com/tic-racing ... -mini-stox

Where is the best place to buy the 13T HW combo? Does anyone in Aus sell them and can you buy just the ESC?

Ryan

Usually from HK off eBay. Yes you can buy ESC only.
