Yeah - I'm the same. Ebay or any of the online shops - whoever has the best price at the time is where I go for!

Thanks guys,

It's for Dads car as his keeps slowing down after he hits a rail and doesn't speed up again for about 30secs. We have tried different batteries, turning off low voltage/temp cut outs, but nothing seems to fix it.

Decided to build a pit box. I'm not 100% happy with the result as its a bit big and awkward to carry. If I had to walk far I'd be stuffed. It really needs to be 50-70mm shorter in both length and depth and then it would be easier to hold. The height is ok though. I'd also change the lid if I was to do it again.

Overall dimensions are 750Lx400Dx450H
Has room for 3 cars.
The storage trays on the left hold most of my spares (one is empty and another is only half full atm). The black case above them is my setup station.
The front folds down to make a nice work surface.

The black tray on the left has a cavity underneath for storing manuals etc.

Power point is connected to a IEC socket for easy setup/pack down.

Does the traveller have a 210 or 225mm wheelbase? I'd like one but prefer the mid wheelbase.

Our club races were also cancelled due to wind/cold bu we had timed practice. I stayed out for about 10mins with the mini and 5mins with the touring car before I gave up. It was just too windy. 8 of us who braved he weather huddled in the club house and talked crap. It was a good opportunity for me to learn a thing or two.

I need to find a Tarmac track. I haven't spent any money on my RCs in ages. Now my 1/5 track has shut down and I haven't driven it in over 2 months...seems like you've come a long way Simon! Jealous of that traveler shell frankly aswell...now I have to think about whether I should go back and convert my mini to be competitive and within the class restrictions or do something else entirely...

You know you want a competitive mini. They are so much and don't require the same dedication as some of the other classes.

Have you got any pics of your 1/5?

Also, while my baja is much bigger, even if I didn't have a pit case/box I'd have to make two trips, I found one of those makeup cases with the double lids and retractable shelves works great for a tool box. I got a lot of stick for it from my family, yet funnily enough not from fellow hobbyists...

Those were from last year, it's changed a bit since then. Considering the last time I took it to that track, I had it tuned perfectly and half a lap in after that, I went over a jump, landed and while I slowed down for the corner coming up, one of the wheels didn't...I got the wheel but I lost the wheel nut so I had to buy some new ones. Anyway like I said that track has shut down now so I have to go to a more official one a bit further away. Still a great track though, just a bit extra distance. Also not particularly easy to get anyone taking pictures as everyone wants to be driving. If I ever took part in a stock class then I would.

210, short wheelbase

if I was going to long wheelbase, I'd get a Datsun 1600 shell, sex on wheels right there

Yeah, that is a nice looking dato.

Here is a link to download the old rd-mini.net website. Lots of great info from some Australian mini racers
