Ryan that baja is IC, 2 stroke whipper snipper motor essentially. Quite a lot more powerful though. I have a buggy that's in bits right now as I blew the engine on it. That one is nitro though. I have an EP short course truck though. That's a 1/10 only it's a real life 1/10 scale so in RC terms, it's more like 1/8.

And then I have my mini! Mind you, I think it's a bit stupid having the brushless motor in the mini and the brushed in the short course. The mini really can't handle that much power unless I've got some really good suspension and tires...which I don't because I don't race it. Aside from the electrics, it's completely stock...

Lmao very true, unfortunately however I can only spend my money on one thing at a time and right now, the big mini takes priority...the little one will have to wait, maybe a birthday present...

I had one of those Datto's in the cupboard FOREVER.

I'm gonna have to go look and see if it's still there now after seeing that pic! :)

Yesterday I had a bit of fun at the track with 3 other m05s. I drove all four each running a different setup. It was amazing what a difference there was, mainly from the diff as we were all running the same springs and similar shock oils.

My car, running 300,000wt diff oil really ploughed into the corners.
My Dads car, running 100,000wt diff oil still ploughed a little but turned much quicker and still had heaps of pull out of the corners.
Another car (M05 pro v2 without any hopups besides the diff) running 30,000 wt diff oil had so much turn in it was amazing and it certainly didn't lack power getting out of the turns. By far the best car on the track.
The final car was running a stock diff and it had the most steering of all but lacked any ability to pick up speed out of the corners.

So it looks like this weekend I will be pulling my diff out. I am going to go with 100,000t because thats what I have. Hopefully the extra steering will shave some time off my laps.

What diffs/oils are everyone else running with what results?

I've run a ball diff since the M03 days. I've never ended up going to a gear diff, cos I can't be bothered rebuilding them or filling them with oil all the time!

took it to the track yesterday, there was a bit of water running across the track where it was draining from a big puddle inside the curbing.... I was avoiding the water across the track and landed it right in the middle of the puddle! 1.5" deep and 1m across! I stripped the whole thing down and dried everything and it all seems OK

while putting it back together I thought, "hmmm, I wonder what it's like with this 3s LIPO I have hanging around" - so I put it in and f*ck me doesn't it move down the hallway!!! I moved the cooling fan power across to the BEC, I'll give it a run on the track with the 3s next time I'm there

last week I took the LEDs out of a little torch that fell to bits and made some headlights - #2 daughter thinks it's scary
