My brother has a 05 jcw supercharged.Is there a cheaper alternative Air filter to a genuine one.

Put a K and N one in. Lasts forever (or so they claim).

Stick with the OEM one, I have done before and after dyno's with OEM, K&N and GTT. OEM provided the best results. They are expensive but they work the best, GTT was the worst.

Tell him to take the flap off the back of the airbox that opens at 4500rpm to allow more air in, sounds nicer and you get the extra airflow all the time.
