Ive had mine serviced twice now.
The first service / inspection only cost $90 bucks.
But the main service @ 25000ks ( oil, coolant & filters) was about $490.
The run flats are crap and im wearing them out as quick as i can, so that the other half can get a decent set on rubbers put on the mini.

Try some of the BMW specialists like Northern Bm or German Auto Haus. They will be much cheaper in almost every area.

my 25000km service was about $300, we get trade prices as a clubMINI member. Tyres I would suggest Nexen N3000, about $175 a corner.

I am also in Kew and i get mine serviced at Bib's, pretty reasonably to, first service was 710 but that included replacing a run flat which was 400 so it was only 310 for the actual service (Mine is a cooper s)

When you look at the how often you have to get them serviced VS the price they are not that bad

i have a 2002 bini and had no trouble and a mate has one. We've had a good run, so I don't know why you have to worry about 2002 models. There's no way I would let anyone but B.M.W. service my Mini .They're the only ones that can recalirbrate the on board computer and so far as cost go, B.M.W reccommend you only need to service your bini every 20000 to 25000 km not like the other places who over service your car and rip you off. My service only cost between $300.00 and $400 plus they give me a brand new $80.000 B.M.W. loan car for the day from 8.30 till 6.30 at night. I went to a certain Mini service center and they where not B.M.W. and they wanted to service my car every 10000 km at a cost of around $250.00. So I only let Doncaster B.M.W. touch my car. And all so the so called cheap service centers haven't got the correct synthetic oil or coolant that is recomended by B.M.W.for binis
