Just been reading about BMW's plans for the Bini...

They include a 'bigger' Bini to suit a family and also a AWD version, maybe for the ricers....

They are also changing the grille and lights, probably to look less like the real Mini.....

sorry to burst your bile ridden bubble

in reality its an Italian company that is doing the work on the extended wheel base mini and they have mentioned possibly doing an all wheel drive custom job as well..and it has been shown in shows etc but its a custom job, not being done by BMW but they are just gauging interst at this stage..

i dont know what awd has to do with ricers.. every heard of 4motion? quatro? etc etc just about every european car manufacturer uses a 4wd system of some sort in thier range from hatchbacks to saloons... theres high demand for european 4wd cars as their weather sucks

they're changing the lights to optional dual xenons and the convertable will have a slightly different front bar.. but its all very minimal so no good news for u there either

so next time do a little more research before u carry on..

later hater.

hahaha
im laughin for the both of ya
coz one is a hater and one is a lover
as you can see i havent made up my mind about them. i think i should be fair and jump in one. body wise/brand wise, im not too happy about. but then again, it was pointed out in the other thread that the new mini couldve been much worse.

The article I read was an interview with the head (job) of BMW. He was trying to justify the proposed change in style and shape of the Bini by refering to the diversity of the original and real Mini (sedan, van. ute variants etc)

Thats like the head of VW saying the new beetle will be released as a 4WD, because the original had 4 wheels and it drove....

minitec, with all due respect, I don't understand what you're getting all worked up about. You don't like what BMW has done to the current MINI/BINI, and you certainly won't like any future variants, try to not let it upset you. You still have your classic Mini, be happy in that........ :D

I start to wonder if minitec is in the position where, like me, he/she likes the shape of the BINI, would like to drive a BINI, but hates the fact that the name MINI has been stamped on the car.... if it had a different name perhaps???? BINI maybe??

I hate it cos i cant search the net for mini stuff without BINIs popping up everywhere instead of minis.....

I like BINIs, but i wont call em MINIs.

Oh, and if BMW can make the current shape BINI with a 4WD drive train, its a step in the right direction.... as long as they don't raise the suspension... 4WD like a skyline, not like a Pajero......

Could a supercharged 4WD BINI Pooper S outrun a WRX??? Lets hope so!!!

Mum owns bini S - drove it - hated it - not the real Mccoy

Mums must have been a hangover car as it has spent more time in the shop than on the road - air leaks in the brakes, loss of coolant, broken drive belt, rust, flaking paint - the list goes on...

Long live the dinosaurs - I think my opinion is valid

Well if aniyone disagree's with what they did to the Holden Monaro, then yer gonna spit bullet's at the new Torana they've unveilied. At least the Bini resembles the original in some way.

yeh like i said before
monaro before looked like the commondoor before
torana before looked like the commondoor before

now, monaro now looks like the previous generation commondoor
torana now looks alittle like the vectra

did the monaro and torana have really distinguished looks that couldve been brought forward to this day?
