I'll revive this thread, my daughter has just brought an 04 Cooper S , ( we pick it up tomorrow ).

Do many people change their rims & tyres from the runflat tyres , to a mag wheel with tube tyres ? Just asking as i'm not familiar with this style of tyre , and wondering
what are the better option ?

If the runcraps have tread on them use them, if the car needs new tyres don't bother with them. Get normal (tubeless) tyres. Much better to drive and more comfortable, cheaper too.
:D

What is the PCD of a Bini wheel ?

Also , what do people do about a spare if they run normal tyres ? , as i noticed that there isn't much room in the back of them to carry a spare .

I had a thought that a "spacesaver "rim out of something else could suffice as a spare,
maybe , I had read somewhere that , ClubMini have a spare wheel system ,
whereby , different people around the countryside have a spare wheel that you can borrow if you get a flat , and then return later on , ( can't remember where i read this ).

4 x 100.

I just got a spare rim from any jap car that fit and had a tyre on it and keep it in the garage.
Never needed it, but the plan was always either get somone to bring the wheel and a jack to me if needed, or limp the car home by refilling the air at every servo.

Thanks for that Harley.

I've been doing a lot of reading of the in-car manual , and checking this forum today , so that i can start to understand these fang- dangled BMW mini's .

Do these cars come standard with a wheel brace and jack , or are these accessories only available in certain models ?, i haven't been able to find either in this car .
The car has good runflats on it , so i have a fair bit of time to decide as to what to change to .

With the early BMW minis (up to about 05/06) was have a spare wheel and jack set for the Cooper, and runflats on the Cooper S. Cooper S did not get spare wheel or jack, even as an option because the battery goes in the boot of an S as the space under the bonnet is needed for the bigger air box.
