Can anyone recommend a decent tyre ?

I'm new to large tyres, something handles like a Yokohama A539 would be great

Take a look at Nitto tyres, I bought some for my wife's Santa fe, they were an 18" but of course they were an suv tyre, but handling is very good and they are made in Japan. They are apparently all the rage in the US

This isn't for an SUV, it's for a MINI cooper a though?

Just check out nittos website, they do tyres for all cars, I found the prices were very comparable with other brand names, and they have some pretty bizarre looking tread patterns

Try Dunlop Direzza. Street legal tread with a sticky compound. Fast warm up and really good in wet conditions. Got mine from Stuckey Tyre Service. I think they are the exclusive agents.

I've got 235/40R18 Bridgestone RE002 Adrenaline's on my daily driver. 20,000km so far and going great, wet or dry.

By the look of it the smallest 18" is 225/40R18, but that's only 8mm bigger in diameter than the 215..
