Haven't looked as yet , but can anyone tell me where the fuel filter is an 04 Cooper S , are they external
or in the tank ? I can't look at the car at the moment , but i'm about to order some service bits for it .

it's in the tank on the RHS (ie behind driver), it's pretty easy to change, just make sure your fuel level is as low as possible.
