I'm looking for a first car for my sister in law, she wanted a honda jazz but all the 4 cars I've inspected so far have not been in good condition as advertised, instead have been damaged, hail damage, cvt issues and failed engine mounts. So I suggested a mini.

She will only drive an auto so that limits us th auto coopers.

I'd like to know if this is a bad idea, she needs something reliable. Are these cars reliable if looked after? My main concern is the cvt and engine. Do they have a timing belt or chain? And if a chain do the need to be changed? Any help would be great.

Tell her to buy the Rover Cooper........then when it does give her grief you can buy it from her cheap. Then she can go and get a Toyota Yaras.
