| Post subject: | Mini as a first car for sister in law? |
I'm looking for a first car for my sister in law, she wanted a honda jazz but all the 4 cars I've inspected so far have not been in good condition as advertised, instead have been damaged, hail damage, cvt issues and failed engine mounts. So I suggested a mini. She will only drive an auto so that limits us th auto coopers. I'd like to know if this is a bad idea, she needs something reliable. Are these cars reliable if looked after? My main concern is the cvt and engine. Do they have a timing belt or chain? And if a chain do the need to be changed? Any help would be great. |

Tell her to buy the Rover Cooper........then when it does give her grief you can buy it from her cheap. Then she can go and get a Toyota Yaras. |

Wanting a first car thats reliable? Do it properly - buy a mazda 3 or a toyota corolla. Done. |
