Of the cooper s bini models which is better the turbo or the super charged model?

Understandably the turbos are newer.

Pros and cons are appreciated

Cheers

In my opinion supercharged. I love the sound of the supercharger and there is something still a bit raw about how they handle and drive. The later turbo ones are nice but feel a bit too much like a bmw so it depends exactly what sort of experience your after. From what I understand the R53 JCW's seem to be well loved and earmarked to be the collectible ones of the future.

The charged ones whine like crazy (especially of you mod the pulley which is easy) which is addictive, but you really have to rev them out to make them go.

Turbo ones are much smoother and powerful lower in the rev range and better on fuel, however the Peugeot engines in them gave more problems than the chrysler engines in the charged cars.

supercharged!
First mod when i bought my r53 was to change the supercharger pulley and airbox.

I have one of each.
so I guess I have the best of both worlds.
as far as power I would say supercharged and out right noise. there easy to upgrade and handle the power upgrades well.
the turbo ones are also great, however much more like any other modern turbo car!

Ive driven both and to be honest I liked the turbo over the supercharger mainly due to the fact the turbo model gave a bit more excitement with the boost. In general superchargers give a linear power curve. Me I'm a person that loves some get up and go so turbo for me!
