1275 Cooper S versus 1275A+ what is the horsepower difference and torque difference. Is the A+ a stronger road engine? Opinions please.
Thanks

Cooper S is approx 75hp / 80lb.ft
A+ varies depending on the spec, from approx 50 to 75hp (65 to 80 lb.ft)

Finding a completely stock example of any 1275 would be reasonably unusual, most have been played with to some extent. If you are going to rebuild the engine either would be a good starting point.

Good reading here:

Thanks Timmy, that was a quick response. I'll do some reading and investigating as my engine has been rebuilt in the past, perhaps by Mini Kingdom, Cheers.

The other 1275 you might find is out of the late Clubman, Moke or Morris 1100S (called the Morris 1300 in the U.K. from the above link). Is has lower compression, tamer cam, single carb etc in original specification, but again can be built up to a similar spec to any other 1275.

1275 Cooper S, GT (removeable tappet covers on rear is best way to ID)
1275 Morris 1100, Clubman, Moke
1275 A+ were UK only, but many have come to Aus since.
