No point measuring the bearings without the crank installed, everything changes shape when installed and torqued. That's why plastigauge exists...

I've got my short block assembled, here are the numbers I recorded along the way

Plastigauge results
Mains all between .0016" and .0025"
Big ends all between .001" and .0015"

Crank End float 0.008"
Cam end float 0.003"

Ring Gaps
Top rings 16-18 thou
Oil rings 10 thou

Piston to Bore clearance (approx, I only used calipers for this) .002"

Cam timed at 107 degrees as per specs

Please let me know if anything there needs attention before I start on the head and gearbox

Lucky you, I was putting mine together on Wednesday, found that one of my rods is bent :(

I've got this 1098 back together and in the car.
I managed to get it to fire up first try, and then did the initial run-in.
It goes well, probably a bit more power than before, but not heaps. I will get a better idea when I start to use the revs more after running it in.
I'm only occasionally taking it to 5000rpm at the moment.

There is a small drip of oil from the chain case, but hey, if that's the only problem I'll be very happy
