OK guys,

What's the best inlet manifold to use for a 40DCOE weber in a clubman (1310) road car where I don't want to create an airbox or make any mods to the bulkhead?

where from?/How much?

I've currently got a swan neck one with Lynx filter which I've been told isn't the best but fits in nicely with no mods (the inlet manifld I mean). I need to do something about the extractors, so now is a good time to change inlets if need be.

Similar question - what exhaust extractors are best?

Redline #3005 is about the best about at the moment, if you don't want to cut holes.
Mini Classic has some new for around $120.
If using a 45 carb, they could do with some enlargement. Stock they are not bad for a 40.

Lynx Ramflo 440S filter (offset up) fits in there, just.. not much room for anything else.
Mine has a Finer Filter pad in it (hard to get now).

Extractors- for a 1310 I like Maniflow medium bore LCB, they are better than most.

coincidently I rang hardiman's today and the 3005 is $160 odd incl GST, the linkage kit about $100. I knew they did one, didn't know if it fitted without mods. Cool.

Where's the best place to get the Maniflows from?

Hardimans said they ordered in "hurricane" extractors (3:2:1) as required, but I've heard of Maniflows before in the UK mags.

Note the 2 home-made `stubstacks' on the carb. Yes they do clean up the throttle response at low revs. They fit inside the Ramflo filter. 8)

Did you machine the 'eliptical flares' yourself? Dont they flow better than properly designed ram pipes?

I copied them from Vizard's book.

Bore is 40 or 45mm, radius is 4.0mm, back angle cut is 30* from filter housing.

It does run sweeter. No room for traditional ram pipes, but Vizard says they are as good!

Karcraft do the Maniflow now. $221 in my old catalog. KC102.

Here's an unfinished project I'll try one day. Yes it fits in a roundnose with 1275- there's a whole 10mm clearance... 8)
