Doc, hmmmm would there be similar level of stuffing around fitting the K1 head as there would be to fitting the K1 motor to a mini gearbox? Pardon my ignorance but what is involved in fitting another motor to the mini gearbox?

My thoughts exactly. Mind you, then you have more BMW parts in there...

Not seen a K motor, might be made to fit, might not. I do know they run anti-clockwise though- nothing some new cams and ingenuity can't fix..

It has all been tried before ....but...why would you want to stick anything but an A Series block on top of that gearbox????

Fiddle to your hearts content with XFlo heads etc but man.....if you going radical then think about a Supercharger, Honda or Suzuki transplant is my advice... :?

Probably would be easier to fit the K motor to a jap box than a Mini one.

Not that I like hybrid Minis anyway.

Putting the K100 or K1100 head on an A series involves a lot of work- I believe 2 head studs do line up (sort-of) the rest don't. Then you need to totally build a cam drive system... oil drains, etc, etc... worth it? I dunno. I'll stay with A series...

Those are old pics- Matt's now thrown away the chain drive to the cams- he's fitted a timing belt system. Posted a pic on MM site a little while back.
