...when you use a splitter, does it ruin the rubber seal that is between the control arm and ball of the ball joint? As far as I can see, the splitter would fit in between the rubber and the arm, so surely it would squash it when you give the splitter a wack with a BFH?

THE HELP WAS MUCH APPRECIATED!! It reminded me of years gone by, where it was mates, grog and late garage nights!! Since getting married those days are a distant memory! :lol:

Yeh- back in the late 60s we used to rebuild the Mini for the annual trip to Bathurst, working most of the night, then thrash the arse off it (running in!) on the way there..
Not long after, have do it all again 'coz something broke... gearbox, crank, or whatever.. :cry:
