yeah but properly set up injection will always give greater flexibility. Not as important on an all or nothing race car....
Maybe so, but try remapping the EFI when you change the cam....
I wanna rip off the EFI on my Mazda simply because i cant do bolt ons without having to remap it.... REALLY sux
Yeah but if you are going to set up a carb engine properly, including dialling in the cam, dizzy and the jetting, you need just as much time on the dyno, and someone who equally knows what they are doing. If you add any bolt ons that affect any of these things then a trip to the dyno for setup is just as necessary for a carby car as it is for EFI. You can just as easily run a carby too lean.
Remapping the EFI software on a standard computer is a pain i will admit, but if you spend the money on a good carb system, it costs about the same or more than an aftermarket EFI computer. The number of dyno operators who can properly jet a carby is shrinking.
One last thing, if you think dyno time is a waste of money, it all depends on what you spent on the engine in the first place.
My brothers sports sedan has an Autronic computer, and i would recommend it to anyone over the MoTec that was in it for ease of set up and operation.
