Anybody know anything about these? Know where to get them from? Benefits obtained from installing one?

benefits :
can run twin 40 or 45mm dellorto/webers ,
better flow
4 exhaust ports
disadvantages
when installed in a roundie u need a huge bonnet bulge to clear them.
you forfeit your current carb and exhaust set up as none of it fits an 8 port head.
initial cost:
head $ 3500
extractors $400
inlet $250
dual carbs $400+
dyno tune upto $1000 depending how many sessions you run.
if you are still interested ken elder& sons in sydney make new 8 port heads for $3500 plus manifolds and freight. email ken_elder_and_sons@hotmail.com
for more info .

I'll assume you mean a pushrod 8 port, not KAD twin cam 16V megahead...

First U need $$$ cubic....

Benefits- bit more torque, bit more power, lots of pub points, pretty sound with 4 separate carb throats a-suckin'...

Disadvantages:
Apart from head you need a new camshaft, 2 Webers or whatever, new exhaust headers, etc etc.

Arden 8 port head- you can get from MiniSpares UK. Not cheap..

Elder 8 port head is made in Sydney. Cheaper, but still expensive...
If you want it to GO, get Russell Engineering (in Sydney) to port it and flow test it. 8)

I feel your pain, i want one too, i think im in the advanced states of madness where one starts thinking about boring out sparkplug holes to be inlets, reshaping combustion chambers, relocating plugs, closing original inlets and making a 7 port head  i could still use my extractors too, heh, i think its a pipedream though, for the time, energy and effort i could hire myself out as a manwhore and buy a real 8 port head, who knows if i was good i might even get enough doe for a KAD megahead with change for an LSD  ...... Maybe ill just try hunt down something on my holiday to england at the end of the year....

Hey Gareth just mill one out of an alloy billet. :P
Can't be too hard- Sainty Engines do with their V8 drag & race engines it all the time. They had even made some replica Lancia V4 motors from billets, last time I was there..

Manwhore sounds ALOT easier to me!

111.01 pounds postage. landed here (say) $2,700. Sell webers for say $500. So you got a template from which you will produce a few (international patent law pending) heads to offset the initial cost. What was that about creaming..... I mean dreaming again......
