Yep, `red850' on the MiniSpares board has done it. It's a +.040" overbore, stroked to 1400cc. Runs a Metro turbo setup. Not sure what the boost is, but hell, it lays rubber!
Good for 13s-14s on the 1/4 mile.
Was running 13" wheels but he couldn't get traction, now he has 6x10s with Yoko A008s.

BTW his gearbox is a rebuilt stock Mini-K... no straight cut sh!t.. 8)

that gives hope for my box...woohooooo!

If you're going to run a turbo, rebuild the box- properly!

By that I mean- all new bearings from idler gear down to diff, new layshaft, check selector forks for wear/replace, check nose of mainshaft-( if worn go find another), new synchros, check synchro hubs for wear.
Check gears for chipped dog teeth.
2nd gear always cops the most abuse- I'd crack test it (dyechek) and the cluster gear to be sure.

BTW I've found some layshafts are better (harder) than others. I just replaced one in Baracade's 1380 that was 2 months old and was already worn so bad it had raised burrs on the shaft.
Dunno where it was made...or what from... that's half the trouble these days. :x

The one I just fitted to Dean's car, we got from Greg at Mini Classic- it was locally made and looked the dog's dangles.. Dean's 1380 has got 110HP at the crank, we'll see how it lasts. The one we took out had no heat treatment marks at all, even on the ends..

Wakefield Pk track day is on this coming Sat- we'll have at least 6 Minis on the track, including mine, James's 998 turbo, and a couple of 1380s- it should be fun! :P

GO THE 1275 man,
i went for a spin in a 1310 with twin 1 1/4's, 1.75" exhaust,bit of a cam,then in a orked 1100,with twin 1.5 SU.monster cam,1.75" exhaust,and LOTS of head work,and the 1310 would almost double its performance :D

Baracade's 1380 we dynoed at 110HP at Xmas (has 45 Weber, 286 cam) on GR's engine dyno- mine's got a little more mumbo, I think... if the 1380 gets there, we'll find out for sure.
