G'day all...

It's new tyre time for my clubby & just wondering where you all think the best place in Sydney is to go for em... Currently got Falken (12") on them but was looking to go for Yokohamas... Haven't had good reports on Falkens...
Would prefer a place near the Eastern Suburbs (I'm in Mascot) and preferably somehwere that will do a decent wheel alignment at the same time!

Thnks in Advance..
Nick

I had Falkens for years, (165/70-10), they last, but are 'kin hopeless in the wet. I had wheelspin up Mangrove Mtn in 3rd gear, in the wet... :cry: And off the line it just laid rubber on the spot, in the dry! (Ah, 1310 power!!) :twisted:

I then fitted Yoko A008s and agree they DO stick like poo to a blanket. I've done 8000 miles, they are around 1/2 worn.

My only problem was balancing the suckers- they weren't round. One took 70g of weights and still hopped like Skippy (on the rear of a hydro). So eventually I moved it around on the rim 180*. Better now.. 8)

Man... I searched & searched but couldn't find those stickers anywhere! You wouldn't happen to have one for sale at all??

<sarcasm 0%>

Found a place selling Yokohama A539's (165/60R12) for $108 ea., fitted 'n balanced... Seem's pretty decent to me or am I kidding myself??

sorry to raise this thread from the dead, but i need new tyres.. well the story is i went for a thrash through the hills with some mates, and they all have faster cars than me (stupid boost!) so i had to take my corners very fast to stay with em, and they're not wussy hills like melbourne, they're cliff's one side and a wall the other and the corners are sharper than a pin :twisted:

anyway i managed to get my car rather sideways on 2 occasions. when i mean sideways i mean if i was rice i'd say i was DRIFTIN' !!!@

anyway i have 3 retreads and the other a completely worn something :shock: , is the best tyre for handling and all-round performance a yoki A008??

For 10" tyres, you can't beat a Yoko A008, IMO unless you got enough gold to spring for A032Rs...and they don't last.

Yes they still sell A008s, kazjim and Graham in Aust and I just got 12 new ones..

Most places want $115 each for A008s, we got a deal off Gordon Leven tyres in Emu Plains, but a place in Wallsend matched it. $97 each, but we only got 4 fitted & balanced. 8)
