I am interested in getting a "one of a kind" modified Mini and stumbled on this website and its very different uptake on how to power a Mini..

Has anyone heard of this being done in Australia?? Is this something that would be legal..??

Just a quote from this site... “…With modifications to the carburetor jetting these 998cc engines produce approximately 320bhp in total!...”

Legal? Well you only have to get it engineered.... I guess it depends on whether you want it registered as a Mini with a motorbike engine or a 4 wheeled motorbike :)

How is it possible to have 2 engines (chain driving) and have the diff controlled by the throttle? Or are both the engines powering the 1 chain?

OK I am not a mehanic, and this does sound complicated, but all the same... pretty simple...

"..the engines sit end-to-end with both of the gearbox output sprockets lying along the centre line of the car.

The engines are sat in an upright position to optimise the operation of the oiling system and to make a compact fitment. A bespoke transfer box is used to combine the drive of the two engines. This sits between the two engines and connects to the two drive shafts which transmit the power to the wheels...."
