hey im running just standard drums all round,

i want to do the honda disc conversion,

but i also want to get rid of the master cylinder and replace it with a booster,

i know its been dun b4 but what booster, what it is out and how hard it is to fit???

Do you mean fit a booster/master cylinder combo such as the Rover mini items? A normal booster for a mini is seperate to the master cylinder, and you don't remove the master cylinder to fit it, just run the booster in series in the brake line. If this is what you mean then you want a VH44 booster.
If you do want the Rover style one, then it is a lot of work. I've never looked close at one but I thought the bulkhead was different on the Rovers to accomodate the booster? Not to mention the Rover item is tandem, and you would have to change other parts of the brake lines if you currently have single circuit brakes.
I wouldn't have thought there is any benefit in fitting the Rover item (but then I don't think a booster is a benefit at all, but anyway), so it would be far easier to fit the VH44 and keep the master cylinder as is.

I would run the discs with it like it is, but you may find you don't really need the booster (servo). If you sell the servo it will pay for the discs... :wink:

My Clubbie's Honda disc brakes can out-stop my Mini's Cooper S brakes- which have new discs, and EBC Greenstuffs.... and neither car has a servo.

I have fitted the honda conv' and run a vh44 booster and its really touchy....REALLY TOUCHY....almost screen kissing. as above i advise to run the discs with standard m/cyl and no booster unless you are into motorsport HEAVILY.....

Lots of talk about the Honda conversion. I know there were threads on overseas boards.....but has anyone come up with a simple 'how to'?

I have access to lathes, mills etc and would love to turn out some kits, but I need something to follow.

i would fit the later dual circuit system( if u have one handy ) as im doing at the moment i am also doing the honda conversion at the moment
