I know people have people done, used and purchased in regards to trigger wheels for crank shaft pully? Show me pictures please! |

I did the one on Benjamin's turbo, also Pristic's turbo. Pete took some pics of it in his engine build thread. It used a Falcon trigger wheel with a boss I welded to it. It was more work than Benjamin's but it's mounted by the 2 tapped holes in the harmonic balancer hub. Best way to do it, as it can't creep around on the rubber damper. Not that I've heard of any doing this, except Holdens. |

Yeah that's similar to how mine turned out. Do not try and tap tiny holes in the hub flange, there is NO metal there to speak of, it's only around 1.0-1.5mm thick, and brittle. I cut an old one up to find out. |

These are used as the crankshaft angle sensor when a programable ignition system like a Mega Jolt is fitted. It tells the computer at what degrees the crankshaft is so it can fire the coils at the correct time. This system does away with a distributor and uses 2x two output coils so effectively their is one coil per cylinder. |

tell me about these trigger wheel dealies - they obviously trigger on the rising edge of each tooth, so the tooth width doesn't matter, but how many degrees apart is each rising edge? - never mind - I counted the teeth on Ben's wheel - 35 teeth plus a space - 10 degrees how many teeth does it need? I know now... how does it all work? I deal with a laser cutter a little bit, and drew one roughly to see what it'd cost to have one cut out - $26-$30 depending on the thickness (I asked for 5 and 10mm) - that was for just 1 |

I ve got to make another couple of these up and I was thinking about getting them lazer cut that one I just fully machined. These are for a Mega Jolt/ Mega Squirt which uses a Ford Edis 36-1 system. So yep needs 35 teeth and the missing one acts a sinc to know where TDC is. |

Wow, great stuff that just shows how easy it is to setup electronic programmable ignition! It also shows how easy it would be to add a throttle position sensor and add programmable electronic injection control. I would love to set an engine up with this, I sense a future project coming on...

I figured you'd machined them... must take a while to do each one of those teeth - even with a rotary table what hourly rate do you value yourself at?
