what's the going rate for the Mondeo EDIS system?

I got quoted $150 for the EDIS module, VR sensor and coil pack - good, bad, indifferent?

no pick-a-parts around here :(

EDIT:

local ford wrecker has a Mondeo in the yard, he doesn't know what all the bits are ("say that again", "what does that do?", "where is it?")

anyone got a photo of the mondeo bits?

The trigger wheels wouldn't be too dear to laser cut from plate. I just got 20 turbo flanges cut for Benjamin so he can do his T25 kits.. 8)

Depends on what Mondeo it is Simon.
Needs to be an automatic the manuals have the EDIS module built into the ECU.
The EDIS module is located about the middle of the fire wall and has EDIS 4 written on it a 100x75mm rectangle box about 20mm thick. Coil packs are easy to see and the VR sensor is triggered by the flywheel runs parallel to the crankshaft. You can also use a VR sensor off an EL EF falcon they are easier to come by and probably cheaper. Just need the EDIS module and coils from the Mondeo even other coils can be used like Lancer or Commodore as long as they are twin out put.

thanks Ben - I went to a local wrecker yesterday and we found an EDIS module on a car - I took in a photo showing the bits I need, because the wrecker didn't know what they were either.

the motor was out of it already, and he wasn't sure where, so he's gonna locate it and give me a call when he's got everything - $110

thanks for the tip on the coils - the mondeo one is a bit ugly, and I don't like the plug end of the leads, looks funny :roll:

What year MOndeo would be a good source of EDIS and Coils - I think they've been making them from about mid 90's right through to now.

90-93 ish appears to be the range - like I said I took in the photo and showed the guy what I wanted...

After showing my dad, and a few people at Hay I need to track down another couple of setups.

I so impressed with how well it runs - been on for a few weeks now with a map I got from the megajolt website (autosportlabs.com/.net/.org) submitted by KLAS, who is also a member on here - it's a very good starting point for my engine - my mate and I will get it on the dyno soon and get it spot on

I do need to thank Ben (92) and Peter (pristic) for answering my questions about it all :D and Ben let me copy his trigger wheel

Sorry to drag up an old thread BUT...
I purchased one of Ben's fantastic trigger wheel kits only to find it won't clear my Minispares timing belt cover. (I already had to trim the original A+pully to make it fit in the first place.)

Does anyone know of a way to get a crankshaft pulley that sits out further from the timing case?

I'm not that concerned about having to space out all the other ancilaries to line up as I'm fitting a daihatsu alternator conversion at the same time, but definitely want a pulley with a damper on it.

I know another and possibly cheaper option is to put the trigger wheel on the outside of the pulley but who wants to have to remove the trigger wheel sensor every time you want to take the fan belt off?

I did one for pristic, I welded a steel hub to a Falcon trigger wheel and then machined it to locate inside a 1098 harmonic balancer.
2 5/16 UNF bolts held it to the existing puller holes.
The trigger wheel was outside the pulley.

any further out and it'll have problems clearing the front engine mount, and besides that, you won't get a replacement fanbelt past the harmonic balancer. But I guess the front engine mount could be relieved a little

if you put shims between the end of the crank and the harmonic balancer, it might space it out enough, but be careful because it gives you another cause for the bolt to come loose and the harmonic balancer to wreck your crankshaft

Do people still have the brackets and trigger wheels for sale?
I just got megajolt and im looking to put it on my 998 while ive got time to play.
