YES. Sounds like you have a Dellorto? on what inlet manifold?
I've had a Dellorto 45DHLA on mine for 10 years and yes, there's not much room there.
1. Use a Lynx Ramflo 440S filter. It is offset upwards for clearance.
Altnough these are really for 38, 40 or 42mm carbs, they will fit on a 45 and work. Make sure the filter's intake holes to the carb are big enough- enlarge if needed.
2. You can remove the carb setup and gently hit the firewall with a BFH (big effing hammer) to create a little clearance....
3. If it's a Redline 3005 manifold, you can set it up on a milling machine and remachine the carb flange angle from 12 to 15 degrees. This tilts the carb up a little. Stud holes need to be retapped at a slight angle after doing this.
I have had no problems since doing these mods.
