The ms3 is a powerful bit of kit, Its expensive but not compared to the other brands with similar features.

Looks like you got it pre-assembled? on the thanks giving promotion no doubt.

I look forward to see what you come up with.
Ever considered just chucking it in and going for one of these cheap 7 ports?

Nope, it's a kit version. I can't justify (read: hide) any more than a few hundred at a time. I got the guy I work for to put the ms and lc1 on his credit card, i put the coils on mine from ebay a bit later etc. etc.

Whats there was about 850, but there are some other bits coming

Cheap 7 port is relative, not cheap for me, but I like doing it on the cheap anyway :)

Hi Simon
First time I have read this thread and interested to know if you have since done anything different to your fuel feed and return. Can I assume that if you weren't concerned about pumbing new holes into the top of your tanks, and ran the return line into a 'T' and fed into the top of boths tanks there wouldn't be a problem with the balance of both tanks?? That's how I intend to do mine based on good advice.

That's very true, but I am not willing to drill a hole in my right hand fuel tank.

After reading about Simons return problem I plumbed an inlet into the injection tank on mine to connect both tanks together like the carb tank and have the return going into a T in the tanks connecting pipe. Seems to work fine, have both tanks filled without any problems.

Thanks for the R & D Simon.

So you chuck in a basic map and it will adjust it from there?

Will the wide band sensor be as accurate as what they will use at a dyno tune?

Holly also produce "auto tune" ECU's, talking to a local engine builder and he was impressed how easy it is to use. He said after the first auto tune you take it for a drive and it just keeps improving itself.

not even that... I started it up on the tune it had in the ecu - you set the required fuel amount, which is the fuel it needs at 100% volumetric efficiency, and then start the auto tune

and the wideband is the same as what they use at a dyno, so yep - :)

and yeah, it does just keep improving - smaller and smaller adjustments. I need to bung in the bigger injectors I have next week...

been busy again.... engine decided it'd had enough in Jan '13 - 30,000km of punishment and neglect had taken its toll.

rings all brittle
head badly recessed
valves rooted
one piston a little bit melted
rockers worn out
cam and followers pitted
some other nasty sh*t
but the crank and bearings were beautiful - I like my oil

rebuild took a long time, finally got it all sorted and put it on a club permit last week

now has
smaller pulley for more boost
water spray
GR pistons (handle heat much better he tells me)
3.1 diff
probably some other stuff I've forgotten

I'll try and play dynos tomorrow

you bastard... sh*tballs.... I really shouldn't have written that - I've named my oil a few times in one of the hundreds of oil topics and no-one has ever said boo... now I've f*cked my own topic with it

The guy I work with was showing me a motorbike forum where someone said something about oil in a build thread, and then someone asked "which oil do you use", and the original poster said something like "oh no, I'm really sorry, this thread is finished" then named his oil, and then there were another million posts talking about different oils. It got pretty funny when people started posting how their oil is great because it always comes out of the engine sparkly gold or silver and how it must be a good thing, even though it wasn't sparkly when it went in

I use Fuchs Formula 60, and on GR's recommendation I add Liquimoly MOS2 to it

Now I bet someone will ask why my cam and followers pitted if the oil is so great, and my response will be that I had significantly more seat pressure than I should have had, which is the main reason why the valves recessed so badly, and also that followers available these days are crap (yes I used the isky ones), to the point where GR took my old followers and resurfaced them instead of letting me use the new set I bought.

Now, don't talk about oil - I don't give a f*ck what oil anyone else uses, what they put in it, what they don't put in it, what they think I should put in it, what they think I shouldn't put in it, what their uncles brothers grandmother puts in theirs nor anything else thats oil related. I shall keep using the oil that I am using because it works for me. I don't care if some other oil works for you.
