Yeah your probably right I'm just a bit over cautious. I just don't want to take after my brother - he decided Piazza turbo disc brakes would go nice on his Gemini. They did until one of the bolts holding the caliper on fell out. What an idiot....

I've given up on getting a straight answer from the RTA so the seat is in and that's how it stays. If I get pinged on it I'll use the 'car is pre-1969' argument and should be fine.

And I wont make it a 2 seater coz I like my back seats even if nobody sits in them.

Thanks for the help,
Anto.

Im after a set of racing seats for my 78 van. They need to be CAMS ok as I'll be doing sprints and hillclimbs in it (Level 2S CAMS license)
Does anyone know what the current regulations are regarding racing seats/harnesses/belts.

Anto,

Nope mate, I'd be exactly the same as you but it is almost terminally difficult (terminally - you end up wanting to do yourself in or go postal on them lol) to get a straight answer and no one is willing to put anything in writing.

I've decided I'm just going to revamp the seats that are already in there. Probably cost me more but... I hope they end up looking ok :D

You want to stay legal, you're buying a product from a supposedly reputable company and you can't get a straight answer. Nurofen anyone?

Craig

SJM, they look nice, have no idea if they fit in a Mini, try emailing him.

No good to me for track use though, as you arent allowed to have reclining race seats.

Remember that you always get what you paid for...

I wouldnt think that at that price they would meet the standards of say a Recaro or the like. Dont get me wrong... I am not trying to bag them out, but I would say that looks are not always everything...

:D
