The coils are part of the Microtech ECU package.

Can I ask what the approximate overall cost of this engine build was? And how hard were the modifications? Within the scope of the average layman (with access to a suitable workshop)?

Keep coming back to drool over those last pics, particularly loving the Ferrari red BMW rocker cover (?), that totally sets the whole thing off!

Hi ten_sim

You do need a mechanical background, understand basic engineering i.e. drilling & tapping and measuring. And leave the tricky stuff to the experts. The more you can do the less it will cost you, and I did do a lot myself.

The cost, well, you need to remeber I had to acquire a 1275 block and crank and I also purchased a gear box to be rebuilt. I will add it up at the end, BUT so far no change out of $10k

Well, a productive weekend even though I was disappointed about missing Hay.

ECU cabling laid, ready for the motor.

Image

Surge Tank, EFI and Facet low pressure pumps fitted. Using Aeroflow black braided fuel line, which will fit nicely under the floor trays. Power wires for the pumps iis routed up the battery cable side.

Motor fits, and the bonnet shuts. The only place I would like a little more room is between the extractor and the bulk head. I'm going to try a couple of rose jointed steadies to push the motor a little more foward.

Once the plumbing is finished, it's off to the exhaust shop for a 2" engine pipe to be fabicated. Then I'm in the hands of the tuner to wire up the ECU and give it it's first crank over.
