I have two of these that I am putting kits in butterflies and all.
Both have three progression holes off idle that appear identical in size and spacing.
Serial numbers way different.
I have four new 78degree butterflies. The first progression hole is partionally exposed at closed throttle on both sides of carb A
the second carb it is totally exposed. So I find that the old 79 degree butterflies put in this carb make it better but one side is more exposed than the other .
Do I solder the butterfly above the progression hole and sand it to try and cover it as it should be???
Try and make all equal or what .
Did tolerances vary this much. Please help before I do something stupid with them LIKE a BFH

Modification of progression holes is a very precise job. If you contact ReCarb https://www.recarb.com.au/ they should be able to help you.

It sounds more like that throttle plates are not installed correctly or the throttle arm itself is bent if there is such a difference between the two at FULL closed position. So long as the body number is the same, the progression holes should be the same, unless they've been modified after the fact.

I would not recommend blocking any progression holes until you know exactly what is going on.

Cheers,
Keels.

Didn't need to .With four new 79 degree butterflys all is good but progression comes on at slightest touch of throttle .
With fully closed throttle they are all now on idle circuit only.
Cheers.
