What kind of dyno ? inertia/eddy current ? What afr was it running at ?

A longer manifold is undoubtedly going to gain a lot, but it should be able to make a bit more on the current spec as well

How good is the Kent 286 cam compared to say the GR cams? The 286 has been around for a while now.

@slide

You have to ask GR :), the 286 has been around for 30+years.

But generally the newer cams make as much power but with a lot less seat timing at lower Rpm and less losses at the bottom.

Here are some old sims that are not too good for absolute power figures but the general shape is pretty decent . SW10 ish ( 286 with some emissions mods) vs sw5 ish (244 degree) but with a good deal of semi-educated guesswork on the ramps, dwell etc but based on the timings I found.

yes the sw10isch cam will make more power but on the road it will not really unless you rev the pants off.. the weird wavy torque at low rpm for the longer cam is a sign that the cam is not working yet ( i.e. it will be stumbling )

Hey sir yun.

The car has been on the rollers. It done 75bhp at the wheels. It run out to 160km/h on the dyno with no misfire issues at all.

I understand wind resistance will bring that top speed down on the track.

On the dyno the air fuel ratio was spot on. A little rich down low but perfect where it mattered.

The misfire seemed more lije the engine had a soft rev limiter. Its not akeays rgere and only happened in 4th gear at about 5500rpm full throttle.

The rockers are on order to be fitted before going back on the dyno.

How is your fuel pump ? Sounds like it may not be keeping up with the be demand?
