Post subject:  DrMini's patented home made hydro pump

Hi Doc. You mentioned a home made hydro pump. The nex lux has hydro and I was originally thinking about swapping to dry but from some of the comments am thinking about retaining hydro. If that's the case, I know the bags are like hen's teeth but how do you make a hydro pump. AND, considering I know only the basics of hydro, if I want to lift the car a fraction is it as simple as a little extra pressure or hilos or what?
Cheers

Craig

Last time I paid to get mine pumped (9 years ago) it cost me $50 after I drove it to Mini & Suzuki Spares.
The pump cost me f'all to build, so it's paid for itself many times over!
Karcraft sell hydro fluid. You can make your own. Todd Miller on MM site uses 50/50 glycol antifreeze and water. Originally there was some alcohol in the mix too- I dunno why. 8)

Advantage of using a MC instead of a grease gun- it's easier to top up- undo cap and pour in. If filling from near empty it takes quite a lot of fluid.

Sounds to me like you have a `permanent loan'...! 8)
Good one!

<edit> looks a bit like mine but has more `features', like a gauge...
