I've just installed the AEA526 valve springs on my cylinder head getting ready for a GR R282 camshaft.
The exhaust valves are sitting 20 thou higher than the inlet valves. I guess this is because of the way the valve seats were cut. Is this critical? I guess this also means the inlet springs are 20 thou more compressed? Can I run it like this or do I need to rectify?
Also I'm not sure how to measure the distance from the spring seat to the bottom of the valve cap, can't be done with the gear assembled but it is a spec in the notes that came with the springs. It will be a road car maybe with the odd hillclimb.

Thanks

Mikal

PS I hate valve spring compressors..

If you are worried, just put .020" steel shims under the exhaust springs, but for a road car I'd not bother.
The springs are good for ~8000 rpm, which is more than you would (or should, for life) use on the road. The .020" won't drop this much at all.

I've just realised the critical issue with these springs is the compressed spring height which is recommended to be 1.40 to 1.42". Mine are all over the place, so once suitable shims are sourced it should be right..

Yes that is correct. I needed to put .100" washers on a Mk1 S head to get to the 1.40" dimension after head & valve work was completed.
Springs were C-AEA526.
