 Post subject: Boring an 1100cc engine

Hi Guys,

just wondering if anyone has got an mini engine bored, and if where in victoria?

and how big can i get an 1100cc bored out? worried about the piston walls.

To get out to 68mm (1220cc), it has to be offset bored.
If you fit a 998 crank instead of a 1098, you will get 1108cc. Stronger crank than a 1098 one. 8)

put a location in your profile and someone near you will recommend a place. I can name a bunch, but they might be a long way from you. Any reputable engine reco shop will be able to bore it... but then there is more to it than just running the bore down the block

Mick Tyler here of Mini Spares and Repairs in Seaford. Give us a call, we use a very good engine reconditioner in the next suburb for all our machining, if thats closer enough. Cheers
