My motor is a near stock mk1 1275
30th over bore and an old 266 cam grind
it made max torque at 5000 and max horse power at 6000
I have my red line set at 5500 for day to day driving
not that I don't take it to 6500 or more every now and again

Can anyone tell me what the max RPM in general should be for a 1275 seems like a mild cam standard head bored to 1310 should be I engine seems to be happy to rev and 6000 RPM doesn't seem to be an issue. what did they rev to out of the box? |

I used to rev my Cooper S to 35mph in first, 56mph in second and 77mph in third. Just as the speedo says. No idea what rpms but. No tacho |

My last mini was a worked 1330 with Cooper S internals and it went to 6500rpm easily but ran out of grunt if you took it to 7000rpm. |

HP peak was at 5,800rpm, so 6500 is OK. HP is diving by 7000. |

Thanks, i'll have to get mine on a Dyno and set it correctly but his has provided me with a good round about number |

Just had a play with my black box hmmmm and now set the max rpm to 6500 I checked and had it at 6000 by accident also made a couple of other changes. Think I found a few Horses Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk |
