Hello,

I currently have an MG 1100 engine that is completely standard except for an MG Metro Cam swap.

I was wondering what work I would need to do to fit as supercharger kit built by The Car Kitchen.

The engine has just been rebuilt to standard specification, the bores have not changed etc.

Would I be able to fit this kit and then drive it away?

Cheers

I can post the same here...

You need to consider:
Compression ratio - hard to change once the engine is built!
Engine build - are clearances suitable, good quality parts used throughout to suit boosted setup
Fueling - pump, regulator, carb, tuning etc
Ignition - megajolt or similar to reduce timing under boost?
Diff - do you need an upgraded unit?
Gearbox - higher diff ratio? upgraded gears?
Clutch- does it need upgrading?
Will it fit with a booster?
Cooling system - does it need upgrading?
AFR Gauge - probably a good idea to have one to keep an eye on the engine

Then, how much boost will it be making and what octane fuel do you have available? This will have consequences on some of the above.. Most things are done or mentioned in the mighty car mods video series, have you seen them?

I agree with what timmy said. If it were me:
- I'd install a cross-pin in the diff
- you could go the route of a decompression plate between the block and head. Not ideal but can be effective
- timing and fuel would need to be redone to suit new setup (map dizzy on dyno, or use electronic means)

They'd be the main considerations I reckon. Not sure what boost options they have or what supercharger they
use. I'd be looking at mild to moderate boost to keep it sensible.

Do you have pics of one of their installs?

That will be one stump puller! The 1100 is already a stroked 998, adding another lump of torque with a supercharger may not make you happy.

Hi my name is matt I am travelling around Australia with my mini arm.
As for your supercharger to 1100 trial , it would work and you could drive it away , put two extra studs in your head upgrade the head gasket and your ignition synonym and away you go . Not everything will last as long that's you'll have to strip it down more often just upgrade a few parts then ;)
