Can I use an A+ crank in a 1100s block ?

if yes, can I use "s" rods or will I have to use another kind ?

Cheers

1. yes

2. not in standard journal size - A+ cranks have big journals (1.75" against 1.625" ?). You'd need to have the crank ground (stroke + or - or stay the same) - and I gather preserving the rolled fillet on those cranks is extra important

wait for Dr Mini or Mini Man....

A+ rods are lighter than the lumpy 1100S ones. However you can lighten those, I mill the lumps down by 8mm then do likewise to smooth off the lumps at little end. Finally clean the rest up with the linisher and die grinder. [edit] and balance them end to end.
Good enough for a fast road motor.
A+ rods are/were common in UK, used from 1980 on in all 1275s.
