I've got a Cooper S Mk11 block, cylinders 1 and 4 have already been sleeved. The number 1 sleeve is not level with the deck, it sits about 1 to 2 mm below the deck. Not sure sure how this happened. Is there any drama with using it as is or can the old sleeves be pushed out and the cylinders re-sleeved again. I'm at the stage of wondering what to do with reconditioning it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm only new to the world of computers so I might be a bit slow to respond, thanks in advance, John |

Hi, what you need to look at is down the bottom of the sleeve (crank end) is there a line around the inside say 5mm or so from the bottom where the sleeve may have been stepped into the block (this stops it falling out the bottom) or can you actually see the thin sleeve at the bottom. If you can see the sleeve, then one of them has dropped down ,and I would replace both. A good quality engine reconditioner can fix it. (I emphasise quality ,as it is precision work) Where do you live ? cheers Lindsay Siebler |

Thanks for the info guys, still not sure where or what I'll be doing at this stage but just starting to think about it will be a while yet before I get to the engine, just doing the paintwork at the moment now the weather is getting better, cheers John |

I lived Nthside for over 25 years...would love to see you expand on "quite a deal of experience in such matters"
