Could some kind person please measure their 8.4" style disc for me so I can see if this one is the same??
51mm for the length you have indicated in your photo above.
Assembled, it should be like this (simplified):
Thanks Harley, you are on the money I think, when I can I'll measure the disc I have but I'm sure it's more like 70-80mm deep. My googling revealed something interesting too. The hub has a number on it of BTA362, google says this is an MG1100 swivel hub! The butcher who has the car previously must have tried to put the 1100 brakes on as well as the 1098 engine which is in it! SOOOOOOO Dodgy.
So, I need two new mini disc brake hubs, I have bearings already I'll just tap them out of the morris hubs, I need some 8.4" discs and pads, and I need to make sure of the calipers I have and make sure they are mini not 1100 which I may need some help with. Or If I'm starting from scratch I can use 7.5" or 7.9" or whatever I want if I need new calipers anyway, thoughts?
The old disc I have has a casting number of AYQ4014 which I can't find any info on.
