Found this in my box of spares and want to change from generator to alternator, even though it’s small capacity is it internally regulated? Thanks

What’s the part number under the Lucas stamp? Edit: above the 15AC

No. As you can see it has a small f+ terminal. Needs a 4TR or 8TR external regulator.
Unless you are going for originality I would fit a later alternator from a Clubby etc.

Will this alternator do the job if I can adapt it to fit? I can get one cheap as chips brand new, fit a pulley and mount it up, it's 100A which is overkill but shouldn't hurt?

One terminal with nut to battery and one push on to lamp in dash means internal regulator.
IF the dash lamp fails or its circuit goes open from any means That alternator ceases to charge the battery

Yes these Alternators were used late 60 and early 70 on Minis, 1800 and more. Most of these you find are fitted with incorrect rectifier as original one had the two large spade terminals being a Negative and Positive instead of 2 Positives. You can see the markings next to terminals on the cover.

Thanks. I've fab'd up a new brackets to hold the alternator linked above, it's off a holden astra and is 100A and brand new, hopefully it fits nicely I'll just have to make a pulley fit or make a pulley to fit.
