Apologies if allready covered, if I purchase a Romac harmonic balancer I'd assume I'd purchase a neutral balanced one as the a series engine is internally balanced? Secondly, Vizard says in the absence of an expensive viscous type damper, using one on the heavier side is recommended! Hence using a lighter Romac option consisting of metal/alloy would be against Vizard's re recommendation? Thanks

yes, neutral balance... assuming that means it isn't weighted one way or the other. Balancing for our engines is done for each piece individually

weight depends on the engine? 1275 and 1100 had a heavy one, little engines just had a light pulley

Some folks here are running a blower with a crank pulley (no damper) due to lack of room. The jury is still out here on this causing failure on a road car.

Thanks Chaps, 1275 non-s +60, lightened flywheel/pressure plate/conrods/, roller rockers, 45 dcoe, etc. Guy from Nornda Automotive who make Romac, said neutral also. I mentioned Vizard's recommendation of heavier balancer but he said they sell more of the lighter steel/alloy!
Any further suggestions.

I have had a Romac light alloy damper for years, and that is on my 1430cc stroker.
Still going strong.
