Hi all
Im having the front seats on my Clubman re-trimmed and thought I would upgrade the ratty carpet as well. I notice there are a few sellers online now that do the moulded carpets (1 and 2 piece) so any recommendations based on past purchases greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Eiles.

I bought one last year from TST carpets on ebay. It was just under $150 delivered and comes with 4 pieces - front, back (which goes over the crossmember) and the two front wheel well covers. The floor pieces come up the sides too, which makes it look neater.

It has settled out since this photo and looks pretty good (it comes rolled up). I was definitely happy with the quality of it for the money

Looking good. What style did you get. Cut pile or loop pile. I’m wondering what would be the best for the Clubman that I’m doing

Mine is loop. You can always contact them for a sample before you buy

Looks great. And good price too. Is there anywhere I can find the original carpet colour for my car? They do a good range of colours. Mine is a 1962 Morris Mini 850.

Cheers

850’s had a rubber lining rather than carpet. My car still has the original trims on the front wheel tubs - there is a separate topic “Rubber Flooring” with some more photos

Thanks Timmy
The carpet looks great! Seems very good value for money too. I'll take up your suggestion and get them to send me out a sample. Now the difficult bit...choosing the colour :)

Cheers

Tim, I noticed yours is trimmed/edged all around and it looks good and not furry like Velcro. Did they, or do you know if they can supply the front wheel arch sections too?

Yes, I’ve got the front wheel sections, that’s on my list of things to do!

Mine is loop pile, so has loops strands rather than the cut strands

I’ll get you some more photos of close up and how it looks now

Here are some more photos. All the exposed edges are bound which is nice. I also like that the floor/cross member/sills are all one piece

It’s not a perfect set, with a bit more fettling I’d be able to get it a bit smoother. I can live with it though, especially as it cost $150 and I fitted it myself. I’d expect perfection from the ~$1000 Westminster carpet!

Thanks a Tim, much appreciated, that’s much better than the cheap set I bought. I’ll order a set now.

Has anyone fitted Newton Commercial's Australian Mini spec carpets? I see they label them as Mk1 but the date range is 1961 to 1971. I thought Mk2 Aussie Cooper S carpets were not the same as Mk1.

Hey Timmy, a few questions about that carpet you've got if I could please.

It looks like there's a rubber? heel pad on the drivers side - is that part of the front set?

Did the wheel arch covers come with their "front and rear" set or did you need to order that separately?

The rear carpet looks like it's a bit too small near the edges. There appears to be a gap of around 30 - 40mm there. Is that right?

What colour are yours - grey or charcoal?

I was thinking of getting a set from All Car Carpets and I rang them to get them to send some colour samples. Haven't received them yet.

Thanks, Rocky
