Is there a list (and pics!) of Austin Cooper S and 997 Cooper colours?

Looking for some inspiration.

Thanks

Hi willy,
Are you talking English cars? Parnells book has many colour photos of Mini Coopers and a full list of body and upholstery colours from Mk1 right through. Your library might have it and motoring book shops but I bought mine through Amazon.com (much cheaper).

Regards
Al

Hi willy,
Yes, exactly the book. It is generally regarded as "the bible" by most enthusiasts.

It's a very good book willy though it only has a little section on the Australian produced cooper's and S's , still well worth the price though to see what changed and when during the total production .

I'll see if I can snag it locally... if not its time to whip the credit card out

:D

Any other books I should order at the time?
I'm not really a book person... have hardly any mini related books - not even the Vizard bible

There are several good ones but it depends if you want history , tuning or just mini interest ?

Hi willy,
All Mini books are good but the Parnell one is the most complete. In saying that, it isn't perfect but it has more of what is right and wrong than any of the others. I would advise to start with that and pick up others as bargains come along.

Regards
Al

Pictures are good.
Tuning is good... isn't there a Vizard book of "How to prep your race Mini" or something?

The reason I am researching is to see what colours they used to use.
I would like to replicate an Austin Cooper S for my race car - I really like the Osmond Green with Saxon Green roof combination. (997 cooper)

But I am seeing what else they did back then.

Hi willy,
I think the only green used on Mk1 Cooper was Almond green with old English white roof and rims. My car is this colour. There was a very limited range of colour options with English Mini Coopers.

Regards
Al
