i'd say vtec, but you can squeeze heaps out of both engines.

I say go with the 4EFTE. With the top mount gone it looks like its meant to be in the bay of a clubman.

when you say VTEC, you could be talking about around 10 different honda engines... be specific like you have with 4EFTE...

I say if you want to go really fast, go for a Honda B18C from an Integra (Type R below...) - same size as a B16A, but 1.8ltr, and VTEC, and crazy powerful...

this one is for sale on OzHonda at the moment - 13.6 seconds, NA, in a heavy Honda.... beat that Mr 4EFTE :P

Quote:
Item

Complete B18C7 2000 ITR motor (roughly 90 000km)
ITR LSD gearbox 4.7FD
B-series Driveshaft
Exedy HD clutch
B-series Engine mounts
Accord Radiator
DynoDave Stage 2 headers
Hondata s200 (Launch control, datalogging) DynoDave tune
Top fuel exhaust under axle 60mm (fits EG hatch perfectly, exhaust will need to be modify for other car model)
Plazmaman Intake system (CAI setup)

Misc info

This setup has been tested and proven to run good times. Was previously in our Yellow EG NA-187 which ran 13.6@101MPH at wsid. Potentially can go faster than that with the right driver.

note: this setup does not run AC or PS. they can be arranged however.

I think if you want/need a lot of help, there are guys on here who have posted up their 4EFTE conversion and there are a lot of pics and info about it. Whereas the VTEC may not be so popular in these circles. Both conversions look awesome and really it is much of a muchness, Powerwise just look at Bigbad and others, you aren't going to need any more power than that. From what i've heard the B16a takes up a lot more space. So for ease of conversion - probably go the 4EFTE. I think if you want an awesome machine and dont have to worry about money, go out and buy a cultus G13B AWD and mock that up, That way you'll be able to get all that power to ground without shredding tyres every week.

Anyways 4EFTE for ease of install, power available and help at hand...
