The car should have about 60-70km range (perfect for driving to and from work) I have put performance parts in it so it should be very quick. The conversion will cost me once finished about $12,000 , so its not cheap but it will repay itself pretty quickly with the way fuel prices are going. The conversion could be done alot cheaper without the performance parts. The car will use about $1 of electricity to do 100km and if I use renewable energy its a zero emissions vehicle.

I am working on a web site at the moment all the details will be on it.

Cheers Phill

Will the hydrolastic suspension be able to suport the weight motor and battrys? There is an electric mini that lives down the rd from my house he is running rubber cone, and has had allot of work done to the suspension I believe.... i think he has 15 battrys in it....

They weight of the car will be about 80kg heavier than the original but the weight distribution will be excellent, I dont think i will have any dramas in regards to the extra weight.

Nice. I love that it is something different to the norm. I would love to see some vids of it once it is going.

The car is not designed to replace ICE cars for long trips it will be a work commuter. If i run out of charge it will be simply a matter of getting a generator to charge it. The batteries im using will be lead acid AGM, I can always upgrade to lithium ion in the future then i would get maybe 150-200km range for same weight. I dont want the handling to be compromised by heaps of battery weight, I would rather less range. As with all electric vehicles there batteries are the weakn link, but for a commuter its perfect.
