Should have 4x 12mm boltholes on 100mm PCD, width overall 44mm, diameter 229, were 12mm thick when new. Regrind limit is 10mm, DBA disc #191 I think, what are they worth new...???

<edit> also check out RDA discs, they are cheaper but good. I've got a set of 7.5s on my Mini.. EBC Greenstuff pads are 3/4 worn but the discs still look sweet.

With the Honda disk conversion, what about the drive shafts. If I'm going from original drums what bits do I need from the Civic/City and what other bits do I need. You need 10"x5 Contessas's is that right. They are ROH's right.

I have bought a set of mags, I wasn't sure what they where but they had 2 Leyland S centers. After they where cleaned and resprayed I noticed on the inside they had ROH on the inside and look just like the ones for sale here: http://tziworld.com/ausmini/viewtopic.php?t=67

I'd like disks and to do the cheap Honda conversion. Is it possible.

Got a few questions...

What year do they have to come off? Cause me and gordie picked up 2 Honda civics from the local garage. now i think one is a 80's model, and one might be late 70's... (ill find out asap)

will these work for the conversion?

and what wheels will fit on them? i have some wide reversed rims, will they fit?

and do you have to do anything to the rear drums?

Cheers, and sorry ausmini4u, im not trying to steal your thread!!!

Contessas fit, but NOT the `Mini S offset' ones. Use the wider track `Mini offset' ones.

Re the Civic discs- if they are 44mm overall width they should be OK.

You keep ALL the drum brake stuff except the drum brakes.
Existing CVs, driveshafts, swivel hubs you use. Even the Mini brake hoses (but fit 2 copper washers).

The Hondas will NOT fit on disc brake swivel hubs, unless you make different caliper mountings (maybe).

See the 2 threads on www.miniportal.ca for info. Sorry the CD is not a goer, yet...

<edit> steel wheels reversed or not, will NOT fit. You should fit S or Clubman S type rear drums if you don't have already.

Thanks for the links again drmini, so how can I tell if I've got the Mini S offset ones or not (got a bad feeling I do since it came with Leyland centers) is there a way I can check.

So I only need the disks and calipers then, when doing the Cooper S disk conversion is that only the disks and calipers too if so it f*&king expensive, I thought it included driveshafts and CV's so that's why it was around $1500.

Sorry for the thread steal ausminis4u, I hope you've got all the info you need. :D

leyland74, the Contessas that DO fit have the spoke `bumps' about 20mm in from the extreme outer edge of the rim. They need flares to be legal, if using S or Honda disc brakes and S rear drums.
These are `Mini offset' type.

The other type have the spoke bumps flush (more or less) and will NOT fit. Track is narrower, they are just legal without flares.
These are Mini S (known as `S') offset type.
If you have these they are worth more $$ than the type above (why???) so if U want Honda discs, sell 'em and get some of the other type..

Thanks, I'll check them when I get home. I'm pretty sure they are not flush so that's good news.

The bumps seem to be more or less flush so that means they're the mini S type "Doh" and I just had them sand blasted and resprayed in 2pac silver then clear (look smick). Hmm have to think about if I really want disks, especially when I'm going OS in 6 months. But God I love modifying/fixing cars it's an addiction.

About how much are perfect condition mini S wheels worth? and how much for the other one's?

Depends on condition, but the ones like yours are rarer, and people with MK1 Cooper S's want them as they fit OK without flares..

Re the other type, again it depends how good they are. I've bought several OK S/H sets of 4 for $200, wheels only.

Yes. Uses 25mm spacer like the Contessas.

There will be a Mini Deluxe in Castle Hill very shortly, with Jellybeans and Honda discs.

I think any 4.5x10 or 5x10 MAG (not steel) with Mini (not S) offset will fit. 8)

Diameter inside rim is big enough, but the well is too close to the inner edge of the rim. S wheels would need 40mm spacers to fit- ie they will stick out an extra 15mm per side more than they would with S brakes. Bit illegal, and doesn't help the steering either.
