Is there something obvious I can look at to tell me? Got drums all round and its a 78 moke. Was just wondering. I suppose I could look up the books... but still .

um most later cars have pot joints unless a p/o has changed them for some reason.... ball joints well i hope your car has them as it may tend to over steer or quiet possible under steer .... or reasonable not stere at all and then more than likely the hubs would fall of
makka

Do u mean pot joints or the rubber hardy spicer joint???? Being a 78 u would assume rod change with pot joints?

Yeah like the others, I was going to say there is a fair chance you have both!
Tie rods are different to pot joints or Hardy Spicers etc

Easiest way to tell re pot joints is to look at the output shafts out of the gearbox and if the rubber boot from the drive shaft is cable tied/wire tied/or has an original retaning band attached to a tube about 10cm long which goes into the gearbox, then more than likely you have pot joints, for Hardy spicers someone else can take on that description. :D
