Hey All ,

When I purchased my Morris Mini K 1969, it had a rear view mirror stuck to the windshield .
I want to replace this with an original mirror for the car but cant find any information on what the original rear view mirror looked like.

I tried the newer chrome mirrors from Mini Spares but it doesn't fit the position.

Can I ask someone for an image of the original mirror and also the bolt size / type that are required?

Thanks again
Dale

The mirror is p/n HYA2570. Fitted to Austn built cars 1965 to 1974. I think they are hard to find. Don't know why as every car had one.

The screws for them are p/n GD910161 raised head Pozi-drive style, 10gg X 32 threads per inch UNF X 1/2" long.

You can also use screw RMZ308 but it is a countersunk head with a point end - same size as GD910161. They are also used for the door striker plates.
Both screws are available - Mini Spares UK or MiniSport SA at least.

I think I might have the wrong mirror. Assumed you meant the inside mirror.
As gtogreen has said, the door mirror was an accessory.

Were they always white? My mirror looks the same as pictured but is black.

Cheers, Paul.

I had a small batch of mirror glass cut to size a while back. If the frame pdpsing is offering needs new glass I can help out.

That is a good question. I have seen minis with black hoodlining, but don't know if that was factory or aftermarket. If the black hoodlining was factory, it would be possible the mirror was also black.
